Dear Central Coast Cross Country Member,
Central Coast Cross Country has successfully been running every Saturday since April at a variety of courses all over the Central Coast. Unfortunately with the interruption of Covid we have stopped our runs until all sports are allowed back. We are taking this opportunity to encourage all our past members to rejoin us and update our 2021 members.
Central Coast Cross Country would like to invite you and your family to join us, fingers crossed, that we are up and running on Saturday August 7th at our new venue 'Fern Valley Ranch' at Somersby. This new venue will be our first for all of us to experience a fun family event running through a murmuring creek that runs through the property featuring two waterfalls. The tallest fall Palesade Fall has a drop of more than 10 metres followed by shorter cascades until the creek disappears into the gully below. This will be the first 2km run 'The Waterfall Run'.
Our 6K Run will include 'The Waterfall Run' and the 'Citrus Run' where you will run amongst 2000 citrus trees. After the races if you would like to buy a bag for $3 donated to the farm you will get the opportunity to go and pick your own bag of oranges, mandarins, lemons and limes. Our 4K Run will include 'The Waterfall Run', 'Citrus Run' and 'The Dam Run' where you will be running around the farm and a picturesque dam.
We are hoping to have a BBQ so everyone can relax and enjoy this day on the ranch. It will be a fun and enjoyable afternoon for all our new and past members. This is a true Cross Country run, not a fast flat run but a run where you can enjoy the tranquil beauty of our beautiful country we live in and get to meet new friends. The planned date of 7th August will depend on the Covid Rules. We are able to run at this venue throughout any Saturday in August so we will keep you posted if the date changes. For non-members we are offering a special fee of $5.00 per runner or $15 per family with 3 or more members for each race remaining in the season. We have Saturday 24/07 EdgewaterPark Budgewoi, Saturday 31/07 North Entrance Fish Co, Saturday 7/08 Fern Valley Ranch Somersby and Saturday 14/08 Point Wolstoncroft then relays and Presentation.
